My Life, My Work
Healing and Helping People
I studied Italian at London University before spending 17 years in the
computer industry.
In 1988 I had the opportunity to train as a medical
herbalist. I studied Herbal Medicine
full-time for five years
before becoming a qualified Medical Herbalist.
I have been practising since 1993.
I am a keen member of the National Institute of
Medical Herbalists (MNIMH). I have acted
as a tutor to students and as a mentor to new members. I attend
seminars and read professional journals in order to keep my knowledge
up-to-date.
I write herbal recipes and articles for a local
magazine. I give talks on all aspects of
my work, and would be pleased to speak to any interested
local group. I am keen on gardening, and like walking in the
countryside. The plants which I use as herbal remedies grow naturally in
the wild, and it always pleases me to see Nature's wonderful medicine store.
As well as my herbal work, I give treatments with
Reiki, a hands-on art of energy renewal. I teach T'ai-chi Ch'uan, an
ancient Chinese movement form rather like a very slow dance. I also teach
Meditation for inner peace.
I am a practising Buddhist and I am interested in allegory as a way to
explain the meaning of life. I search for answers to the big questions
in life. Why are we here? Who am I? What is God? I
find truth in many different places, from Buddhist scriptures to Star Trek !
I relax by playing classical and electric guitar, reading and watching
movies.
I have lived and worked in and around Selsdon, South Croydon,
for 20 years.
